Fresh air, countryside, the great outdoors! We love it. There is no better way to see the local area than checking it out on the river.
We offer a range of river trips throughout the year, with our main season running from about March until October but we will pretty much be paddling all year round.
When the sun comes out
Through the core part of our season, we run bi-monthly trips throughout Essex and Suffolk. These will be river trips, training and coaching sessions, and a good old social knees-up (who doesn’t like a beer from time to time). Check out some of our exotic destinations.
So what sort of things do we run?
Our spiritual home is usually the river Stour on the borders of Essex and Suffolk. One of our favorites is a trip up to Flatford Mill, a big win is the Café, so bring your pocket money and grab a coffee and a cake. And if it is a scorcher I’m pretty sure you’ll find an ice cream to be had. Before you get mobbed by ducks that is.
Some of our most asked Questions
Trips and adventure
Someone told me that I need a licence to get on the river? Is that true?
Yes, you do need a license to get onto the waterways. If you join as a member, you are able to paddle with us, as a club member with one of our coaches, and use the club’s waterways license to get onto the water safely and legally. If you want to go out with your mates and family that is great but you’ll need to have a waterways license for yourself.
We do however recommend signing up too British Canoeing as you don’t only get access to the waterways, you also get personal insurance for you and your kit and also some rather tasty discounts! Who doesn’t like a discount!
